SOXPRO underwent rigorous and controlled bench testing at SePRO's dedicated research campus in North Carolina. Utilizing both control and activation ponds over several months, the results were highly impactful. They demonstrated SOXPRO meets the stringent nitrogen and phosphorus reduction standards set by the new DEP stormwater rule.
Field Testing
Boca Raton, Florida
Following the successful bench tests in North Carolina, SOXPRO was field tested in Boca Raton, Florida, in collaboration with a new development under construction by GL Homes. These field tests further validated the effectiveness of SOXPRO technology meeting the nitrogen and phosphorus reductions required by the new DEP stormwater rules.
Scientific Validation

SOXPRO represents an important strategic initiative and the work planned for 2026 lays the groundwork for its long-term potential. SOX & SePRO will continue its research and development efforts in partnership with Florida Atlantic University, advancing the scientific rigor needed to validate SOXPRO’s performance and environmental impact.
These studies will be submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection with the goal of securing SOXPRO’s inclusion on the Water Management District’s Appendix O under the Clean Waterways Stormwater Rule.
Securing this designation would position SOXPRO as a recognized and approved solution for stormwater and restoration projects statewide, opening access to larger markets and establishing a clear competitive edge. This pathway is a top priority and highlights SOX’s commitment to innovation and leadership in environmental restoration.
